No Fix It Friday, update on Work In Progress Wednesday, and misc...

It's been really busy here so I haven't had a chance to update the blog in a few days. Wednesday ended up being a fun project that needed to be done ASAP and so that took up my normal blogging time during nap time. It was fun and be on the look out on Sunday to see what I did (those of you at Wheaton Bible Church get to see Sunday morning). I'm glad I was able to help out at the last minute and had fun at the same time doing something I love. It's because of this that I decided to wait until Sunday to update my P365 too.

So, on Wednesday I should have given you all an update on the house. I don't have a whole lot to report other than Mark got the network wiring done and has decided to re-do the insulation on one of the walls so we're getting there but wasn't able to start working in the office this week like he was hoping. My parents are coming to town next weekend so by the end of that visit the bedroom/office should be ready for Mark to work from there and hopefully we'll be able to open up the Family room too.

Yesterday, we had our new Design Your Life lesson and I really enjoyed it. Since the last update I've also gotten a few pages done and this weekend will be devoted to my next big assignment which is due next Friday, similar to this Wednesday's project but I've had more time to prepare it. I've had it envisioned for quite awhile but trying to execute it now.

OK, on to the pages I did... this first one was my first sketch for Design your Life class, I used Cocoa Couture by Julie Billingsley which is part of the 2009 Sweet Shoppe Design's quarterly assortment vol 4, the alpha was a newsletter freebie from Misty Cato a Sweet Shoppe Designs designer.
the second one was made as part of my February porfolio at Sweet Shoppe Designs, it's called Honey I Shrunk the Template and you're to shrink the elements and everything on a template and use that for your page. I used a template by Susan Robinson who I CT for and the kit used was Penny Springmann's Doodles and Damasks which I LOVE LOVE LOVE and will be using over and over again. I guess I should note that the pictures on this layout are of Isaac... he's such a beautiful boy and got a comment about how my precious little girl is too cute... well yes, Moriah is too cute, and so is this sweet boy who has proven himself to be all boy for sure. Gotta love escaping a diaper change and then crawling to the corner... then looking at his goods, laughing and then peeing all over the floor... I know he did it on purpose just to frustrate me, lol. OK, back on track... I love this page and I loved shrinking the template that I may do it again.
Lastly, is this one which was fun to do. It's also a part of the portfolio challenges and it was to scrap an important event in my life using only black, white and grey. I had this kit by Traci, Hip To Be, that I just love and I thought it would be perfect for a wedding picture. The problem is back then digital cameras were sooooo new so I only had one pic from our wedding and our scanner is on it's last leg so I couldn't scan any of the better pictures. Anyways, I still think it turned out nice. For the waves I used Edgy by Traci and the font is my custom print font by Darcy Baldwin. The little journaling mat was a clipping mask that I shrunk from Traci's Matted.
OK well, that's it for today... I'll have more tomorrow from my CTs' (creative teams) new releases...

Oh, and there is no Fix It Friday this week as the girls are having a blast at the Blissdom conference. Looking forward to next Friday's Fix It.
