I had my 33 week OB appointment today and we were talking about that final stretch and how I'll be going every week and then in a few weeks I start the non-stress tests at my appts, which I LOVE btw. It got me realizing that I've been spending a ton of time working on Christmas decorations and stuff like that when I really should just let this Christmas be super simple and easy and start working on the things I still need to do to get ready for this baby's arrival and enjoy my last month cherishing my two kids before their brother arrives. I figured that since I've done paper birth announcements with my kids that I have to do the same for this one too... but now I'm thinking I'm going to go the digital route... mostly because it's cheaper and so much faster and my life is about to become totally chaotic, lol.
So, instead of having a project done to show you... I ended up putting my half done projects away and will maybe work on them sometime in 2011 to have for next Christmas. Gosh, it feels good! And my tree with just the lights and star on it is going to remain ornament-less and all the decorations will remain in the rubbermaid tub they are stored in. Gosh, it feels good!
I am working on one project though... I want to have amazing memories of this year's Christmas, so I've joined a class that will help me journal my Christmas. I'm really feeling the need to do that. I've also joined another class that started today to help me with inspiration and hope to be able to keep an art journal and memory journal in 2011 and this will help with it. I seem to have so many things in my head that I want to do but then lose steam and I'm hoping this will help me be inspired by what's in my head and what's around me... like my kiddos, who make me smile soooo big every day.
Gosh, it feels good to take care of myself so that I can be a better mother and wife to my family. No more trying to get a million things done that I think NEED to be done, and enjoy this short life on earth.

How Cute Is This?!?!
I did it! I completed my first crochet project and I'm really excited for the little dude to arrive so he can wear it! I got the pattern from the Etsy store - RAKJ patterns and made my own little tweaks to it. I'm so excited to get working on another hat for him and then I'm going to be working on getting some wool longies knit up for him.

knitting again...
I'm so excited to be knitting again and gonna try my hand at crocheting too. I want to make wool longies for this little dude coming soon into our arms and a friend shared on her Facebook page that the canvas tote you get for free from Joanns when you buy 5 skeins of Patons brand yarn was really cute and awesome... so after my awesome prenatal appt I made a quick stop at Joanns to check it out... she wasn't kidding it's an awesome tote and I picked up 5 skeins of wool to get started on these longies. I can't wait! Isn't this bag awesome!?!?!

I also picked up a star for our tree since they were 50% off and I've been wanting a star for our tree for years. I might have picked up some Christmas crafting supplies too :) which you'll see hopefully soon on my scrapping blog... Oh yeah, I don't remember if I mentioned that or not... I've started a new blog just for my scrapping stuff. I was thinking this blog was getting a little overloaded with the scrapping stuff and wanted it to get back to what I originally wanted this blog to be. You can find the new blog HERE if you still want to see all the scrapbooking and hybrid fun. I've become quite addicted to hybrid so many of the projects aren't just scrapbooking pages anymore but cards and home decor and other projects like that. Do you like the name? Mark thought it was perfect since I do seem to be really scrap happy and I brought over the hippie name from this blog. I've been kinda struggling with creating layouts lately because I've been so busy so lately I've been doing some hybrid projects hoping that will bring back my mojo. I've really really enjoyed creating home decor stuff and cards lately. It reminds me of the days when I was really into rubber stamping. I've been enjoying getting my hands dirty again... though now I have to clean everything up before naptime is over or before I go to bed, lol. I have some Christmasy projects going in my head and hope I'll be able to find some time between knitting and resting to get them done.

Work In Progress Wednesday
I'm not even sure where I'm at with this it's been so long since I've updated the home renovation progress. We got the driveway done and we did a little bit of winterizing on the outside and got a new furnace and AC... which means we've now replace every major appliance in this house since we've moved in. So now we're starting to work on the inside. Mark really wants to get the family room painted before baby comes but it's proving to be a bigger project than expected... of course, lol. We also need to replace the front door and get that painted before it gets too cold to do that. I haven't been able to help much with anything as this is my biggest pregnancy and I'm already pretty uncomfortable. I wish I could do more :(. It now looks like we'll be pushing all the painting to the spring... this is the one thing I'm really looking forward to so that the house will feel like it's ours and not someone elses. We're also totally amazed at the air quality with the new furnace... we think there must have been a slight carbon monoxide leak as I was always feeling tired and headachey, but it wasn't enough to trigger the alarms. But since we've replaced it, I haven't had any headaches other than tension headaches and I'm still tired but that's because I'm very pregnant and the bloodwork shows I have low iron. But, other than that, you really can tell the difference in air quality now, not just the headaches and tiredness but it just seems easier to breathe. YAY!
And I'll leave you with a pic of my sweet little boy who just turned 2 at the beginning of the month and we celebrated with family this past weekend.

Make It Monday
I realize that it's been almost a month since I've last posted here... Ever since our trip to Nashville, I've been going through some time of getting back to being the person that God created me to be and it hasn't been an easy process but I'm starting to finally feel like myself again. Life has been super busy here and I can't believe how close we are to Thanksgiving, my most favorite holiday. I made this centerpiece and had to show it off. I seriously love it and have now become addicted to hybrid projects, lol. During my time off from this blog I've decided that I'm going to start a new blog for just scrapbooking stuff and this blog will get back to what it's titled to be which is my life as a modern day hippie. I know that scrapbooking is a part of my life but with so much scrapbooking, I've decided it's probably best to have it's own blog. Stay tuned for the details.
Here's the centerpiece that I'm so excited about!
