Work In Progress Wednesday

Back for another update on the house... we got some things done but with family in town for Isaac's dedication and myself working for Slings I Love at a baby expo on Saturday we didn't get as much done as we had hoped. We have ants, so we had some bug guys come to give us an estimate... this is a huge problem and will take many times before the ants are away from the house. We finally decided on a "green" company and they are coming out today for the first application. Also, this morning the siding company came back to fix a tiny bit of the siding.

Over the weekend, the back garage door which desperately needed to be replaced was replaced... our kitchen door would open up from the wind because of a huge space between the bottom of the door and the garage floor, lol. Also, the kitchen door was very broken and in super sad shape so we had that replaced too. Our goal was to replace the front entry door too but it was going to be a bit more work than we had hoped so we'll just have to buy some weatherstripping for the winter and then replace it in the spring some time. We made sure to buy the ones that qualify for the energy tax credit.

So, when we were checking out the ant problem on the outside of the house and getting the mulch away from the house, we found another crack in the foundation, sigh... We're glad we found it though before we had replaced all the drywall down in the family room. So, yesterday they came and filled the crack and we'll be all set to finish the drywall one of these days.

One of the things we've been working on lately is dedicating our house to the Lord, so before we paint the place we've been writing scriptures and songs on the walls. I've really enjoyed doing this even though we've been told it's hard to paint over permanent marker. Oh well, we just really felt it was important for us to do and our friends and family have been helping us out with getting some great scriptures on the walls.

We have another super busy weekend this weekend, we're going to an apple orchard on Saturday in Indiana and then on Sunday we'll be doing another photoshoot for Slings I Love. That means I'm not sure we'll be getting much done on the house... maybe we'll be able to get the last closet door in.
