Yesterday and today we had a new sliding glass door put in the back of our house... I wish I had a video to show you how bad the old one was. There was a gap in the bottom when you locked the door so it didn't close all the way and the seals were broken so you couldn't really see outside. The handle was broken... and it made the funniest noise when you tried to close it. Truly it was on it's last leg years ago, lol. Really, I wish I had taken a video of the noise it made when you closed the door. Anyways, the new door is in, YAY!
I can see out the door now, lol!
Oh, and we found out we have ants... I mean, I knew we had ants but didn't realize how many until we had a bug guy come to check. OH-MY-WORD!!!!! I've never seen so many ants in my life!!!!! Seriously!!!!! I thought I was going to puke, it was so gross! Thankfully, they weren't carpenter ants or termites like originally thought, but we've got a lot of work to do to get them away from our house.
Let's see, Mark also did little things over the weekend to prep the 4th bedroom and get ready to put all the pieces back together in there so Mark can work from home again. Mark did a bunch of clean up. It's so exciting now to see all the progress on the house.
This weekend Isaac will be dedicated at our church so our parents will all be in town and we hope that we will be able to replace the front door, the kitchen/garage door and the back of the garage door. YAY, more ways to make our house more energy efficient. In November our friend will come back to replace several of the windows which will really help since several of the windows have broken seals. We decided to spend the extra on the ones that are eligible for the energy tax credit because we found that in the end it will end up saving us money. I can already tell a difference in just replacing the sliding glass door. I can't wait for our bedroom to not feel like a furnace in the summer or a freezer in the fall/winter, lol.
