Book of Me pages & Two great digiscrapbooking kits for charity

Last night I was excited to have the new February portfolio at Sweet Shoppe Designs and work on my Book of Me. I did the 3 pages for my 5 points and had fun playing with some more kits out of my unused file. YAY! I'm really narrowing it down with this portfolio challenge! Here they are:

Well, I always choose World Vision for charitable donations in times of need but there are two digiscrapbooking kits that came out recently that I just couldn't resist. They are HUGE and AMAZING! I love how so many designers came together to make two very different and beautiful collabs. The first one is available at Scrap Orchard and the second one is available at Songbird Avenue which is a store dedicated to charitable digiscrap contributions.
While I'm excited about the digiscrapbooking supplies, I'm most excited knowing that 100% of the proceeds will be going to reputable charities that are helping in Haiti. I wish that I could do more to help than just financially though. :(

Make It Monday - Book Of Me

Well, I'm really excited about what I'm working on this year. I've heard of people doing a book of me for their loved ones and the response is so great. Part of Sweet Shoppe Design's new challenge system is giving us prompts to create our book of me pages and I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to do one because I only have to do 3 pages per month to get the points and by the end of the year I'll have a really nice book to have printed for me to give to Mark and the kids. I decided to combine this assignment with my 2-pager assignment for Design Your Life class and I think the pages are simple and totally perfect, YAY! Anyways, I used "See Jane Smile" which is a collab kit done by Sweet Shoppe Designs and available this month at www.thedailydigi.com along with tons of other great kits that will be perfect for a book of me, loaded with tons of beautiful pages and elements. So, the first page is just to list some basic stats about me... The second page was actually very healing for this low self-esteem person to do. I really struggled coming up with 10 things and had to ask Mark to help me... his first response was the big boobs, lol... umm... not so much, thanks for the help though *rolling eyes*. He did finally help me on a few of them... still not sure they are totally things I love about me, but working on it. One of my goals this year is to work on my self-esteem and this was a great starting point. Who knew that scrapbooking could be so healing.

So, on with the pics...
