A Wilton Cake Decorator I will never be...

but that's ok with me... I'm learning to let go of my perfectionism and just enjoy my time with the kids...
Here's what we made today as part of our special project or activity a day in December. The old me would have cringed at this (I took Wilton cake decorating classes like 10 years ago, tho I'm totally out of practice) and I admit I was getting a little stressed with the kids touching it, but then I remembered the reason we were doing this was to have fun with the kids. Moriah picked out the design she wanted from the pictures on the box and I started getting to work. I did all the frosting work and let the kids do all the candy placements. Yeah, my perfectionist side came out and I "fixed" the candy placements...
looking back though, I really wish I hadn't... I suppose hindsight is 20/20. I would have prefered a true creation by the kids instead of me telling them what to do... next year, I promise to let them do their magic and I bet it will turn out WAY better than this one did.
when we were done, we had fun eating the rest of the frosting and candies... talk about a major sugar high... even the belly baby was going nuts for awhile, lol.
